Sometimes the smallest things can have the largest impact. Trim is an excellent tool for adding in those details that make a room feel complete. In this blog, I’ll highlight various ways to use trims and share some of my recent favorites.
On curtains I love thinking about how to utilize trim along the edges, placed intermittently vertically or staggered horizontally. Solid in color or flat or embroidered trims seem best for this.

Roman shades are the perfect excuse for using a ball or classic fringe. When the curtains are up the trim acts as a nice pop. I can see this being a great option for a kid’s bedroom.

Doing a statement trim around curtain edges and across a valence can be a fun way to repeat an accent color in the room. At the bottom of curtains think about utilizing wide flat tapes.

With pillows you can do just about anything- I’ve seen so many simple neutral fringes used to tone down elaborate patterns, or statement pleats and lip chords to tie in any pillow.

The limit doesn’t exist- I’ve even seen some designs utilize trim on top of wallpapers- or running up floor to ceiling in a room's corner. Below are some of my favorite ways to utilize trim when it comes to furniture; lip and flat trimmed headboards, narrow trimmed lampshades and of course wide trims or a silk bullion on sofas.
