Hemp Linen

Hemp is an extremely easy growing, always organic (due to its natural pest-resistance) and high yield crop. It can produce more fabric per square foot than cotton! It is naturally cooling and breathable. In your home you can use this material for bedding (check out Buffy’s duvets and sheet sets) and sometimes you can find it as an upholstery for furnishings.

Stone

Compared to a lot of other materials stone does not need to be ground down and combined with other materials or chemicals to be used. 100% of stone is recyclable, making it easily one of the most sustainable materials. Many people use stone as an alternative form of flooring, but you can also look for tables and home decor made from it (like planters or vases).

Bamboo

Bamboo is extremely fast growing and biodegradable! It is extremely strong and lightweight. Our favorite uses of bamboo include lighting, kitchen utensils and baskets.

Recycled & Reclaimed Wood

Although wood is a renewable resource, there is significantly less manufacturing needed in the processing of reused wood. In every aspect of home decor there is an opportunity to find reclaimed or recycled wood furnishing instead.

Jute

Like bamboo, jute is an extremely fast growing crop that actually enriches the soil that it grows in. It is also a biodegradable and compostable material! Look for it in rugs, curtains and outdoor furniture.

Clay

Clay is a biodegradable and easily harvested abundant material. It can be used to naturally help reduce humidity and temperature. We love using clay ceramics and vases!

When it comes to choosing the right materials for your furniture and linens, it's essential to consider not only the aesthetic appeal, but also the environmental impact. One of the most significant factors to consider is the type of material used. By choosing natural fibers and materials over synthetic ones, you'll create an environmentally conscious and beautiful space.
