Sustainably Revitalizing Your Space

Reviving a home space can be a daunting task where your first instinct may be to completely redecorate, however it can be easier than you think! One simple way to start is by rebalancing your furniture and wall decor. Take a step back and assess the layout of your room. Are there any pieces that are crowding the space or making it feel cluttered? Move them around to create a more open and airy feel (avoid trying to fill every corner). You might be surprised at how a simple furniture rearrangement can completely transform the ambiance of a room.

Another way to give your home a refreshing feel is by changing up your home’s aroma. Seasonal scents can have a big impact on our mood and overall well-being, so consider making a seasonal room spray, adding in essential oils or lemon into your cleaning routines, and changing out your candles. For example, light and citrusy scents like lemon and eucalyptus are perfect for the spring and summer, while warm and spicy scents like cinnamon and cloves are better suited for the fall and winter. Even conditioning or polishing the natural woods in your home can include adding in scents. Check out some of our favorite room scents and home cleaners:

As for lighting, don't forget the power of natural light! Pull back your curtains and pull up your blinds to bring in sunshine during the spring and fall. In the evenings, try switching a few of your floor lights and table side lamps over to color changing bulbs. Try new tones of yellow and orange in the evenings, and turn those pesky fluorescent overhead lights off!

Finally, don't forget about the power of simple swaps in the bedroom and bathroom. Refresh your bedding with lighter, brighter colors in the warmer months and switch to warmer, cozier patterns later in the year. As for in the bathroom, try switching out your towels and washcloths. Avoiding overly holiday themed linens will help in keeping your space simplistically beautiful and refreshing. By making these simple changes, you can easily revive your home space and give it a fresh new look that's perfect for any time of year.

Decorating with seasonal finds is another great way to give your home a fresh new look. Take a walk around your yard or visit your local farmer's market to pick up some fresh flowers or branches. We suggest using neutral colored clay pots or clear vases as a base. See below some of our suggestions. Avoid using artificial greenery, if you struggle with taking care of plants- opt for dried shrubs and florals that will never require water and can be composted when you are looking for something new.
